![]() ![]() Primüs - just remember that each USB ASIC requires 2.5 - what's this site? I like the silence of BE's compared to the roar of GPU mining Long story short 32/160 have paid for themselves minus some power costs, ratio at the moment looks to be 20% of profits go towards power so more like 26/160 have paid for themselves. I've been running ~90 BE's until recently, now I've got 113 running of 160 total. Going on AUD I've spent ~$1000 on BE's, they've generated 0.5 BTC so far so ~$200 now. In other words the alt coins would still be sitting there so wouldn't convert to anywhere near the number of BTC as they did when I exchanged them earlier. Back then I rustled up the BTC by exchanging various alt coins, if I didn't buy the BE's I never would've exchanged the alts for BTC. I looked through my BE orders today and discovered I've spent 10 BTC on them all up, which I guess sounds like a lot but when I bought them 1 BTC was ~AUD$100. They're a bit more per GH than the pre orders available but what sets them apart from everything else is I HAVE THEM! Better yet most of them are mining. However its good to see BTC value increasing with the diff increases, its keeping my block erupters profitable and I'm quite happy I bought so many. Barntech must be doing ok with the BTC sitting in their account. The drillbit boards for example haven't really moved in BTC since they went to pre-order, but BTC's worth 4 times what it was back then (I paid via PayPal tho). I can see the reasoning to quote BTC prices for mining hardware (promoting BTC, etc) but unless the sellers keep their prices up to date its quite annoying. The unknown pre-order wait is annoying isn't it, barely any devices are actually in stock right this moment. ![]() Ideas anyone? Good options from a few weeks ago have either dried up or are now overpriced. Hrm I'm a bit stumped on this one at the moment, I don't know what to recommend for getting into ASIC mining right now. You could take a look at the Drillbit boards or USB's here:īut once again the prices don't look like they've been adjusted for the latest price rise so still too much. ![]() Some 49 port USB hubs were available a few weeks ago with large block erupter purchases but they're all gone now. Seems to be the most cost effective and practical solution so far. Some of us have been buying $6 10 port hubs off eBay along with big 5v power supplies and solding the hubs into the power supplies. Yep RPi and a powered hub is a good combo but the problem is cheap powered hubs aren't able to supply enough power and expensive powered hubs eat too much into ROI. You'll find some on eBay but looking at the prices they've gotta be joking! I was paying 0.028 BTC per block erupter by the end of the sales and that was before the BTC price rise so ~AUD$3.30 each a few weeks ago but they're selling for $15?! I thought they were marked up significantly before the price rise so I'd avoid them for the time being, surely they don't cost much more to produce than block erupters even including R&D. The Australian reseller is julz, I think he's moving onto selling Blue Fury USB miners but it looks like they're still priced at 0.88BTC/each which is very expensive considering the current exchange rate. I bought all of my block erupters from there but I think all of the resellers have cleared out their stock to move onto whatever comes next. Not too sure on supply at the moment, the main place to look for miners is the Group Buys section on the bitcointalk forum. ![]()
